Airport / Bus terminal transfers
AmanRimba is located about 45 minutes drive from the heart of Kuala Lumpur. It will take another 45 minutes more to the KLIA or the LCCT in Sepang. If you require us to arrange your transport to/fro the estate to/fro the airports or bus terminals or other destinations, please contact our Resort Manager of your requirements in advance. She will inform you of the charges for such arrangements.
Climate
Pahang enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round with the most pleasant weather from June until September when the trade winds blow. It can get quite cool in the extensive mountain regions. Humidity is highest between November and March, during the rainy season. Even during the heaviest rains, however, the sun is rarely out of sight for long. The mean temperature is a pleasant 27.2°C (81 @F).
Language
Bahasa Malaysia is spoken by all Malaysians. Developed from old Malay it has become the unifying national language. English is spoken commonly these days, especially in the main tourist centres.
Currency
The national currency is the Ringgit. The bills are usually issued between 1 and 100 Ringgits while coinage runs from 1 to 100. US dollars are acceptable in a number of the larger tourist centres. Moneychangers readily change most currencies but not always traveller's cheques. Credit cards are accepted by hotels and establishments in larger townships.
Immigration Requirements
Visitors from certain countries require a tourist visa in advance, some can obtain these on arrival at any international airport in Malaysia and some visitors do not require a visa at all. Prices also vary. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the arrival date. Guests are advised to check with their nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate prior to travel or contact our reservations de partment for more information.
Health
A host is on call 24 hours a day at Aman Rimba, with access to a general practitioner. In certain areas of Southeast Asia there is a chance of contracting mosquito-borne diseases. Reasonable precautions, including the use of mosquito repellent will minimise the risk. You may also wish to consult your doctor.
Travel Tips
Electricity is 220-240 volts AC. Pahang's time zone is plus eight hours GMT. Loose and casual clothing is advisable. In the late evenings, a light sweater may be useful. |
